UBC Engineering could not realize our commitment to outstanding student learning, research excellence and community engagement without our generous supporters. We work in close partnership with individuals, corporations, foundations, service organizations and government to secure funding for projects that advance faculty and community priorities. The examples below illustrate the difference made through the generosity of donors.
Shell Campus Ambassador Program
Shell Canada Ltd. is enriching the learning environment for UBC Engineering, Commerce and Science students at UBC with two gifts of $400,000 that support the recognition of outstanding work, travel to conferences and competitions, and participation in clubs and field trips.
entrepreneurship@UBC
Entrepreneurs Peter and Diane van der Gracht and Greg Peet founded the entrepreneurship@UBC Fund with a combined gift of $250,000. The fund provides students the opportunity to apply for pre-seed capital financing to take their ideas from concept to investor readiness.

NSERC Chair for Women in Science and Engineering
The combined support of 14 corporate and individual sponsors matched the $350,000 contribution of NSERC, enabling the NSERC Chair for Women in Science and Engineering to advance engineering and science as welcoming careers that serve our world through holistic understanding and creative, appropriate and sustainable solutions.
The Wayne and William White Engineering Design Centre
Opening in the fall of 2011, the Wayne and William White Engineering Design Centre will provide students across engineering disciplines with a shared space to develop their design skills while sharing knowledge, becoming improved communicators and team players, and building their practical experience as engineers. Wayne and William White contributed $2.5 million to the construction of the new building.
